The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors.
The Care Certificate is made up of the 15 minimum standards that should be covered if you are ‘new to care’ and should form part of a robust induction programme.
It was developed jointly by Skills for Care, Health Education England and Skills for Health.
At ABM Training UK Ltd we work with care sector employers to create high quality training and assessment that delivers all 15 standards set out by Skills for Care. We act as your specialist outsourced training provider and use our 13 years of care sector experience, bespoke high end tutor led e-learning and virtual classrooms to deliver great quality training. Virtual Classrooms
Our core training is structured around the 15 Skills for Care standards. Each virtual classroom is led by and expert trainer. We cover all units including:
- Understand your role
- Your personal development
- Duty of care
- Equality and diversity
- Work in a person centred way
- Communication
- Privacy and dignity
- Fluids and nutrition
- Awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disabilities
- Safeguarding adults
- Safeguarding children
- Basic life support
- Health and safety
- Handling information
- Infection prevention and control
Virtual classrooms are delivered using Zoom or Teams and are arranged on flexible basis with plenty of interactive learning and breakouts.
E-learning
ABM Training UK Ltd has developed a series of unique e-learning modules. Care Certificate participants access these in a sequence as follow on learning and assessment after each virtual classroom. Modules include:
- Video learning and playlists
- Interactive exercises
- Quizzes and Knowledge tests
- Links to further resources
Care Certificate Digital Workbooks
Participants joining the ABM Training UK Ltd Care Certificate training programme complete the full suite of Skills for Care work-books as they progress through the programme. We provide a unique version of the work-books in an easy to sue and submit digital format.
Care Certificate Assessment and Certification
ABM has been training new staff in the care sector for more than thirteen years. Our team of expert trainers and assessors are all experienced trainers with a strong active background in providing and supporting care provision. Our assessors are formally qualified and are monitored by our own internal quality control and verification systems.
Trainer Support for the Care Certificate
Learners competing their Care Certificate Training with ABM are supported by a trainer / mentor throughout the programme. The trainer provides:
- ongoing support and guidance
- feedback on learning
- formal assessment
- signposting to further support and / or learning
