This course is an introduction course to working in schools as a Teaching Assistant. The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting and Learning in Schools can also lead to a progression route onto the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools course or the Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship programme.
The course will be delivered online, with a one day a fortnight, compulsory training session, for six months. The Certificate will be delivered through online support sessions, online structured learning, self-directed study and in some circumstances workplace observation and assessment. There will be an online portfolio and assessments to be completed. Learners will have a Skills Tutor to support and guide them through the qualification. Each session will look at a different theme or topic and by the end of each session you will have the knowledge that is required to complete the assessment. We cover everything you need to get you ready to start work as an entry level teaching assistant in a school. You’ll be supported through discussions, written assessments, observations, work placement assessment, reflective journals, individual and group tutorials and online modules through our apprenticeship TV and RISE modules.
Functional Skills is available to each learner that would like to gain their level 1 or level 2 in maths and/or English or upskills their knowledge.
All of our certificate and diploma courses use a blend of virtual classrooms, workshops, e-learning, 1-2-1 coaching and social learning via Whatsapp or Telegram peer support groups.
Our teaching and learning is rated GOOD by OFSTED and 85% of our learners achieve merit or distinction grades at end point assessment.
