Working with children in their early years is a popular choice and for good reason. It’s a worthwhile and varied role, it can lead to a good career and it leaves the summer holidays free for those with children.
This new Early Years course is being offered by ABM Training working with Paddington Development Trust.
What Qualifications are required?
You don’t need any qualifications to be accepted – just lots of enthusiasm and a clear sense of why you would like to do it.
Training is absolutely free if you are unemployed or in unpaid voluntary work and a resident of a London Borough.
The Professional Role
As an Early Years professional you will be working with babies and young children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5-7 years.
You will play a key role in ensuring that young children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. You can work in a range of settings including full day care, children’s centres, pre-schools, reception classes and as a childminder.
About the course
The course is taught online through tutor-led workshops and online modules that you can access in your own time as well as one-to-one online meetings with your tutor. On average, this amounts to eight hours a week plus homework. The teachers will support you through eleven assignments and come out in person to observe you working with children.
Awarding Body – NCFE CACHE
The awarding body for this qualification is NCFE Cache. They are recognised as the leading awarding body for adult care courses, childcare courses and teaching assistant courses. Employers know and trust NCFE Cache qualifications.
